Snapshots || Disney Dreams of Christmas

fireworks

I have not stood outside frozen to the bones to watch fireworks in such a long time. It was one of the parts of Disneyland that I was most looking forward to and I had it on good authority from Danielle that the Disney Dreams firework display is always a really good show.

As we would be there for Disney Dreams at Christmas, we were hoping it would be just as good, if not better, what with all the festivities and decorations going on.

I must say, I was a little underwhelmed by the whole display. I had envisioned lots of festive themes projected onto the castle, with plenty of tunes to bob along too (to keep those feet warm!) followed by the firework display. It ended up being a lot of Frozen and not a lot else, with some fireworks dotted here and there.

Not quite what I expected, but that did not stop me taking plenty of photos!

It was also my first time taking photos in the dark, and of fireworks, with my new camera body and I am quite happy with how the photos turned out, especially after a little editing.

So without further ado, here are a few snapshots from Disney Dreams at Christmas!

Not to toot my own horn, but I think these turned out alright. Have you seen the Disney Dreams display, what did you think of it? Or any other firework displays for that matter?

  • I love firework photos, will never understand those who don’t! You got some amazing shots. I feel like places are making less of an effort with these kinds of things than they used to, probably because people will still go regardless.

    • Me too! They are definitely tough to take photos of but with some editing they come out quite nicely in the end.

I think you might be right. It’s sad, but it’s more than likely true.

  • Wow this looks like quite a show! You definitely got some great shots, fireworks are tricky to photograph. I love the fourth one from the bottom. I’ve seen a few Disney World firework shows, but I don’t really remember much about them other than it was super crowded and hot and I was tired. Haha.

    • Aren’t they! I have many rubbish photos from all the ones I took. Especially as it kept switching from the fireworks to the light show, that was the hardest thing to deal with… I can’t change my settings that fast!

This was super crowded and cold! I wish it was hot! That would have been really nice.

  • Kel

I’ve never actaully seen any of the night-time Disney shows, and I’ve heard they’re marvellous – sorry this one weas a ittle disappointing, but your photos are wonderful! x

    • Thank you! I think had it been a little less Frozen themed, it would have been better. But oh well, you can’t have everything and I still enjoyed the fireworks.

  • That castle is beautiful. Disney sure does know how to build them, even if their shows are a little lackluster.
The 8th picture down is my favorite. The symmetry and castle glow are gorgeous in that photo!!

    • It is definitely a beautiful castle!

  • I was so pee’d off by how rubbish it was compared to normal Dreams! If I’d known it was gonna be like that I don’t think I’d have stood…or made everyone else..in that awful cold. You got so many good photos though! I just gave up in a huff so don’t have any lol.

    xo

    • Oh it was so so cold. But I still enjoyed the fireworks, so that was worth it in the end.

Haha! I didn’t mind these photos, I have a lot of crap ones to go with them though. I gave up on the rides, I’m rubbish at taking photos on the move, so I just have yours to enjoy for now.

  • These photos are gorgeous Kerri, I love seeing the colour changes and the fireworks throughout these and that final shot is just gorgeous! Beautiful photos. I do love a good fireworks display, they always make me smile. – Tasha

  • I saw it back in a November many years ago when I was 16 and it all seemed very magical to me.

    • I think the usually fireworks display is a lot more magical. This was far too much Frozen for me.
