Do you know what I haven’t done in ages? A tag post. You might be thinking “well of course, because you don’t like them”. Well, you would be right. You’d also be right in thinking that I am a glutton for punishment.
Well, okay, I like them a little bit. They make me sound funnier than I am and I like that. They stroke my humour-ego in all the right places.
So, I’m bringing tag posts back. Hopefully once or twice a month. There will be no method to this madness, just a tag here and there, whatever I can find when I’m in the mood for it, that’s what it’ll be.
So we’re starting this off with the 25 Food Questions tag, with a vegan twist. Obviously.
I found this on Llinos’ blog, when I was having a gander on my Bloglovin feed for a tag post to do.
So let’s get cracking!
I found this tag on Llinos’ blog, right here!
The 25 (Vegan) Food Questions Tag!
First off, let’s award a point for a descriptive title. We all love a tag post that tells you what it’s about beforehand.
1. What’s your favourite breakfast?
A smoothie. Hands down. I have a smoothie for breakfast every day of the week (with the odd exception, mostly to do with uncivilised people not having blenders, or rushing out the front door).
I love me a smoothie.
If not, I love me some wheetabix with coconut and almond milk. It must be this milk, all other vegan milk tastes pants, including that soy stuff that Kris puts on his wheetabix which makes it taste like dessert. No one wants that!
2. How do you drink your coffee?
Phew. That was an easy question.
3. What’s on your favourite sandwich?
Your preposition is wrong question! The only thing that’s on my sandwich are tears of sadness because sandwiches are the most boring thing on earth. I avoid eating them at all costs.
I’m more of a toast person anyway.
4. Soup or Salad?
Soup with a side salad, thanks.
5. What’s your favourite cookbook?
6. No more sweets or no more hearty foods?
No more sweets, since I don’t really eat them any way.
Another easy question. I’m a pro at this.
7. What’s your favourite Cuisine?
Vegan. I’m not kidding, if it’s vegan, I’ll eat it. Maybe only once, but at least I tried it.
8. What’s your favourite food movie?
*Googles “movies about food”*
I’ve only seen Ratatouille, so I guess that’s my favourite.
9. What’s your most guilty pleasure?
This perpetuates the idea that people should feel guilty about indulging in things they enjoy. This question is stupid.
Plus, as a vegan, it means that everything I eat is healthy due to the good vibes that are radiated into the universe by the things I eat. That and not shaving my legs protects me from the evils of unhealthy food.
10. What’s your greatest inspiration source?
My stomach. Sometimes the fridge.
11. Cooking at home or going out for dinner?
At home. Always. Unless I really fancy going out for dinner, then I just order take-away instead.
12. High end or low profile?
I’m sorry, what?! What do you mean question?
Low profile as in low cost? Low number of ingredients? You’re confused. Go home.
13. What’s your favourite restaurant?
I don’t have one, but I do have favourite dishes at the places we go to. It’s called: the only vegan option on the menu.
14. I do my grocery shopping at:
The supermarket across the road and occasionally Bio Planet, because I like to cycle up there with my re-usable bags, enjoy all the organic and fair trade food on offer in a shop lit only by solar panels on the roof and then pay €2.50 for a damn mango.
15. The tastiest food I’ve ever eaten was:
Dates and peanut butter. So good.
There’s probably other things, but I’m flaky, I’m change my mind all the time.
17. Coffee with George Clooney or Heston Blumenthal?
*Googles Heston Blumenthal*
Neither. Also Heston sounds like he should be a cheese.
18. What should not be missing in your kitchen?
One time, my blender broke and I didn’t have one for a while and it felt like what I imagine vegan-hell to be like. All the bananas and no ability to smoothie them.
I’m still traumatised.
19. What is your favourite snack?
Dates and peanut butter.
20. What’s on your pizza?
A butt-tonne of veggies. And some nutritional yeast if I’m feeling fancy.
21. What food do you really dislike?
It would be unfair for me to get all douch-y and list a bunch of non-vegan food so I won’t do that. Plus, I’ve never said eggs don’t taste good, I just choose to not eat them for all those other vegan-y reasons.
Of the vegan food I have eaten, I dislike:
- Any time I make tofu (because I’m bad at it)
- Other meat substitutes (it’s the texture)
- Most vegan milks
- Anything of the root vegetable variety with the exception of beetroot and potatoes
- Apples (exception: pink lady ones)
- Forest fruit smoothie flavours or fruit mixes
22. What’s your favourite food blog?
23. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Raw courgette, it was actually alright.
Raw broccoli too, that wasn’t so great. The little bits float around your mouth when you are trying to chew.
24. What’s on your food bucket list?
Mangos. Damn good mangos. Also a good papaya.
25. I couldn’t live without:
Bananas. No kidding, I consume at minimum of five a day. They are my go to breakfast, my go to snack when we’re out and about and my go to dessert (hello, vegan ice cream).
Before I go, if you’ve done a tag post recently, or know of a tag post that you’d be interested in seeing me do (any topic, the weirder the better), definitely let me know! But apart from that, I tag every one, because I know you all eat food! Mwahahaha.
