In my opinion, this is one of my more genius blog ideas. It’s no secret that I’m a bit of a photo-an-hour post fanatic – yup, I’ve crossed the line into fanatic – but when I heard that this months photo-an-hour link up with Jane and Louisa was on a Sunday, I fell hard in to thinking dude, my Sunday’s equal boring. I don’t even get dressed if I can help it, which I usually can.
So, I hatched a plan, I would take my photo-an-hour photos on Saturday and pretend it was Sunday. OK, I probably would have admitted it was Saturday at the end, but I was all prepared to lie my way out of five photos of tea, one photo of dinner and another five photos of Pork Chop.
But! Then I had an idea. Oh yes I did. Photo-an-Hour: Saturday Versus Sunday!
Doesn’t that sound great? Doesn’t that sound like a jaw dropping, on the edge of your seat kind of read? I thought so too.
Saturday : Up. Sort of. Currently kicking Kris in the back to get a cup of tea.
Sunday : Zzzzzz-ing
Saturday: Out the house and walking to the train station. Who needs buses at 6am? I do.
Sunday: Still Zzzzzz-ing
Saturday: Sunrise. I enjoy the occasional sunrise. Occasional being key in that enjoyment.
Sunday: Zzzzzz-ing and drooling
Saturday: Field. Green. Mud. Green. Sun.
Sunday: I’m awake! Yup, I’m awake! Look sunshine!
Saturday: Field. Mud. Field. Green. Sun.
Saturday: Time for tea. A quick train change in Rotterdam and we are back on our way to Keukenhof Gardens.
Sunday: I was just resting my eyes in the last photo. Time for tea.
Saturday: Much bicycles. Much Netherlands feels.
Sunday: Egg & Soldiers, be still my beating stomach.
Saturday: Wandering around the Keukenhof Gardens, enjoying the sunshine and flowers, before the crêpe incident.
Sunday: Preparing a winter casserole in springtime because #yolo.
Saturday: Watching people, watching tulips. It’s not often that I willingly include people in my photos, but this seemed like a nice setting.
Sunday: Blog time. Importing and choosing photos. Oh the life of a blogger.
Saturday: More… tulips.
Sunday: Just to add some depth and emotion to the photo of me still faffing about with tulips, I added a cup of tea.
Saturday: We finished looking around the gardens, the Rent-A-Bike queue was too long, so we went for a hike in the woods near by.
Sunday: Oh, more tulips. How predictable of me.
Saturday: Still hiking. Still taking photos of moss and trees.
Sunday: Socks. Because, you’ve got to wash your socks at some point on the weekend.
Saturday: Heading home and the “oh crap I totally forgot to take a photo, quickly take a photo of the house on the side of the road whilst the bus has stopped at the traffic lights” photo.
Sunday: Spicing things up on a Sunday and moving to the sofa to continue blogging.
Saturday: A quick stop for food before getting on the next train.
Sunday: Time for a run!
Saturday: Can you have too many trains for a Saturday?
Sunday: The post-run shower is a good shower.
Saturday: After 6 hours of travelling and 6 trains later, we are rolling into home.
Sunday: More tea and no photo of my laptop even though I am clearly still using it.
Saturday: Pyjama time! From Saturday evening until Monday morning.
Sunday: Calling home, getting some bad news and being reminded that expat life isn’t all tulips and tea.
Saturday: A very tasty late night snack. Snacks always taste better late at night.
Sunday: Snacks for Pork Chop, energising him for his nightly marathon.
Saturday: Tea before bed. Always.
Sunday: Do you like my IKEA bedding?
And that’s the weekend. I think I’m going to get a late night snack now. What does a Saturday Versus Sunday in your life look like?
