It’s a fact: you can never be too overdressed for IKEA. Especially if it’s raining, you’ve missed the bus and have twenty minutes to kill waiting for the next one. What better way to spend that time than snapping a few outfit pictures.
Coloured tights have always intrigued me but I’ve usually chickened out of wearing them But, then we come to Belgium and apparently coloured tights are a staple in all Belgian women’s wardrobe. It didn’t take long for my intrigue to turn into a buy and as I was on the hunt for some thicker black tights I thought I’d snap these fancy orange ones up too (and a teal pair…). They are so comfortable, warm and a good fit. What more can you want? That’s why I have two pairs of the black ones and may have a strong intention to get some more at some point. I love it when I find an item that’s just perfect and I can buy it in many colours, yep, I’m a lazy shopper.
Last sneaky outfit post of February. Look out for the outtakes coming in the next days, what better outtakes that ones in the rain!
Coloured tights? Yay or nay?
I’ll admit, in these pictures it looks as though I’m having the worst time of my life. I wasn’t. I was just really, really cold.
These pictures are from our trip to Roosendaal the other weekend. In hindsight I’m not sure how much I like the combination of the dress and jumper but I thought I’d blog about it all the same. The outtakes are a lot more fun and you can see them in February’s outtake post at the end of the month!
I can’t quite seem to master the jumper over your dress look, more often the jumper is too long and I basically look ridiculous. I think I’m too short, at 5’2’, for a full-sized jumper and dress. For this jumper I folded it a little into a cropped shape and pinned it into place using the belt. My gosh, was it tight. The jumper is also a little high in the neck but it’s nice a wooly and warm so that made up for it.
On to the one other picture!
Cute pattern, no?
The other Friday was Kris’s birthday, he’s the big 2-3 now. I already had some holiday booked from work but poor Kris had to exchange his bank holiday on Monday for Friday off. We decided to make the most of it and go somewhere new. Check us out, keeping up with our resolutions.
We decided to visit Roosendaal, Netherlands. It was Kris’s choice. Before we moved to Belgium, when it was my birthday we would end up spending the closest Saturday at the nearest shopping centre with my family, present shopping. So we thought we’d go check Roosendaal out as it has an outlet mall and we’ve been looking for suitable places to go shopping here. I say here, even though we went outside of Belgium.
That was the plan.
What actually happened was this.
We woke up 2 hours late. Luckily it was a Friday so the buses we’re reasonably regular. We still missed one. I had planned what to wear the day before, except I wore it a little already and there may have been a slight worn smell (I’ve all ready mentioned my excessive sweating). Note to self: I should buy some Febreze. Eventually we were on the bus, off the bus, forgot the tickets for the train, couldn’t get new ones printed at the ticket office (…why ever not?!) and back on the bus again. After going back home to get tickets we were finally on the train, arriving four hours later than originally planned and one and half hours before the outlet shut. Getting to the outlet required a 30-40 minutes walk, we could have taken a bus, so in the end we went to check out the other shopping centres nearer the station.
All in all, not a bad day out.
What do you like to do one your birthday?
